If these prices for new Buells are factual, the used Buell market might be in for a rough ride.

Regardless of brand, right now is an epic time to buy a new bike. Especially in terms of securing perhaps the lowest price possible.

Prices that would have gotten you thrown out of an OEM shop just a few years ago are now accepted at many dealers as they try to move units in a difficult economy.

Moreover, the unfortunate closure of the Buell brand by Harley-Davidson has seemingly created a fire-sale at some dealerships.

The latest fire sale pricing? Buell 1125s for around $6000--or less.

If you're doing any silent thanks today, you might want to add that you don't own a Buell motorcycle that you're trying to sell on the used market at the moment. Because, at least in the short term, it's in danger of being eviscerated.

Update: Reportedly, in an effort to sell all models still on the floor, Harley-Davidson is paying Buell dealers $5000 for every Buell they sell in the near future.
