The Westby Racing team won the Daytona eight-hour endurance race at Daytona on Saturday night, topping the Roadracing World team by two laps.
The Westby Racing riders (consisting of Josh Hayes, Dane Westby, Jeff Wood, and Dustin Meador) made up a gap and held the lead solidly after dark. All four riders lapped quickly and avoided trouble.
All my teamates did a great job and I'm glad I could uphold my end," said Hayes, who did a steady stream on 1:51 laps to cut into the Roadracing World Suzuki team's lead in the early going.
The Roadracing World team (Martin Cardenas, Chris Ulrich, and Jason DiSalvo) lead early and pushed hard but couldn't make up the deficit after they fell behind.
"It's tough to beat a team that doesn't make any mistakes," said DiSalvo after the race.
21 bikes started the race and 13 finished.
