Yamaha man Josh Hayes rode off the track several times and finished thirteenth. Former 200-winner Ben Bostrom finished eighteenth. John Hopkins entered the pits shortly after the race started with unknown problems.
A torrid race with many changes for the lead, Zemke took the lead one lap from the end and was easily able to hold off a pack of four or five riders for the win.
Official timing says that the margin of victory was .230, but it looked much, much wider than that. Hayden/Pegram/Yates never had a chance to catch former Daytona 200 winner Zemke.
Update: Hayes was slowed by a bad clutch and rear tire couldn't be persuaded into racing.
