Nearly everyone except for Dorna and Spanish circuit organizers sees the folly of hosting four MotoGP races per year in Spain, especially since the Spanish economy resembles a flailing villain falling from a tall building in an action movie.
While it's fairly certain at least one Spanish venue will be trimmed from the calendar in the next two years, Jerez won't be one of them. Circuit organizers and local politicians have reached an agreement with Dorna to extend Jerez's contract to host the Spanish Grand Prix through 2015, Spanish media reported.
The contract extension will be announced Monday, Dec. 10, Spanish media reported.
