Add reigning World Champion Jorge Lorenzo to the list of people who think Valentino Rossi hasn't lost his ability to ride a Grand Prix motorcycle during his two lost seasons at Ducati.
Lorenzo thinks the problem for Rossi in 2011-12 was simple - a tricky Desmosedici bike. Of course Stoner won on the carbon Ducati.
"It's true - the Ducati bike seems to be very complicated," Lorenzo said. "Only Casey (Stoner) won a championship and races with it, so for sure it's not easy. Vale is a strong rider and really complete, but he couldn't (win) with it.
"Maybe with Yamaha he returns again to a high level."
That last line is a classic psyche job for his new and returning Yamaha Factory teammate by Lorenzo. It almost reads: "There's no question this is a kick-ass bike. So it's all up to the rider, and Valentino just might be good enough still to hang with me."
