Tom Sykes remained the quickest World Superbike rider during the second day of testing Tuesday at Jerez, improving upon his top Monday lap of 1:41.3 with a time of 1:41.0.
Kawasaki once again didn't carry transponders on its bikes, but hand timing confirmed the laps.
Sylvain Guintoli continued his rapid acclimatization to the factory Aprilia, second overall at 1:41.283. Eugene Laverty was third at 1:41.762 on his Aprilia.
Honda riders Leon Haslam and Johnny Rea both worked on race simulations, topping out at 1:42.039 and 1:42.108, respectively.
BMW and Ducati will join Kawasaki, Aprilia and Honda Wednesday on the final day of the test.
