James Toseland continues to settle nicely into his role as MotoGP Rider Emeritus among the British media and public, as his name pops up regularly in Brit motorcycle publications and general sports websites.

JT most recently captured headlines by saying fellow Brit Cal Crutchlow could be a consistent podium finisher next season on the satellite Tech 3 Yamaha. Crutchlow finished seventh in the MotoGP standings last season, earning his first two career podium finishes in the premier class.

"Cal has done an amazing job," Toseland said. "He's got a good opportunity next year to get consistent podiums. He can be a success and keep the momentum going.

"There are only five or six bikes that you would want to be on, and he is on one of them. The others haven't really got a chance. I wish him all the best."

Two-time World Superbike champion Toseland rode for Tech 3 in MotoGP in 2008-09, with mediocre results. He returned to World Superbike in 2010 before a wrist injury forced him to retire in 2011.

Toseland is keeping his hand in the Grand Prix scene by helping Moto3 race winner Danny Kent with physical training this winter before Kent climbs to Moto2 in 2013. Toseland has become good friends with Kent through his tutoring work with Kent at the Phil Burgan Race Academy in England. Burgan's academy supported Toseland during 2007, when he won his second WSBK title.
