Many MotoGP and World Superbike riders paid tribute Tuesday on Twitter to the one-year anniversary of the death of Marco Simoncelli, including Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Dovizioso, Loris Capirossi, Loris Baz, Michele Pirro, Scott Redding, Hector Barbera, Mattia Pasini and more.

But perhaps the most poignant tweet came from seven-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi, one of Simoncelli's closest friends in the Grand Prix paddock:
