Cal Crutchlow wasn't bursting with British pride or doing an imitation of a legendary jungle dweller when he appeared to beat his chest during practice Friday for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
A wasp was in Crutchlow's leathers and stinging him repeatedly during an out lap.
"I went out the pits and I had a wasp in my leathers," Crutchlow said. "The crowd must have thought I was Tarzan because I was trying to kill the thing smashing my own chest, and I must have looked like a complete idiot.
"It stung me three times on my chest and I've had quite a few pains ever since, and I thought I was going to have a heart attack. It was still in there alive, and those sort of things don't help."
