Dorna may have a small solution to its "Spanish problem" in 2014, as officials from the under-construction Sochi circuit in Russia have targeted a MotoGP race date.

Spain will host four of the 18 MotoGP events yet again in 2013 despite that nation's economy plunging into the Earth's mantle. Petro-fueled Russian oligarchs are eager to show off their nation through sport, as a Formula One race will take place at the Sochi circuit in 2014. The 2014 Winter Olympics also are taking place in Sochi, located on the Black Sea coast.

Hermann Tilke, the pet architect of F1 czar Bernie Ecclestone, designed the 3.64-mile circuit at Sochi. Tilke said the track should be compatible for motorcycle racing.

"There is no doubt that the circuit will be meeting all the requirements for Formula One and maybe also for the MotoGP," Tilke said.

Dorna also won't need to worry if the circuit will be funded and finished. The Russian government has committed US $200 million to construction.
