Something very interesting seems to percolating at the Zanotti Racing shop in San Jose at the Roberts compound. From the left, former racer and Grand Prix crewchief Warren Willing, GNC team owner Dave Zanotti and King Kenny Roberts. The three are collaborating on a new take on the Kawasaki 650-powered dirt track platform.

Expecting King Kenny Roberts to slip into an easy retirement isn't anything close to what the man is all about. Roberts has, conservatively, more ideas before noon than anyone else we know can drum up all week.

Former racer turned Grand Prix and MotoGP crewchief Warren Willing is a longtime close Roberts ally. The pair spent some time at Kenny's shop recently where they collaborated with Dave Zanotti on a dirt track bike project powered by a Kawasaki 650. The Zanotti family's race team is a well respected and very successful dirt track organization.

Roberts is interested being involved in the project (no, he's not going to race it) and Willing is intrigued as well. Enthusiastic dirt track racer Dennis Kanegae will be at the Supercross event this weekend in Anaheim drumming up support for the proposed project. If you see DK, say hello.
