Jorge Lorenzo won his second MotoGP World Championship in 2012 by finishing first or second in 16 of the 18 races, including six victories. Yet he insists he can do better in 2013.
Gulp.
"I can still improve under braking," Lorenzo said to Italian media. "For my riding style, in some cases I can brake a little later or ride differently. Also, I'm not perfect in the rain."
Lorenzo's superb 2012 season wasn't the best, statistically, of his five years in the premier class. He scored 33 more points and three more victories en route to his first title in 2010. But Lorenzo thinks his performance in 2012 was superior because he made fewer mistakes against stronger competition.
"In my opinion, (2012) has been my best season, even compared to 2010, when I won my first MotoGP title," Lorenzo said. "Back then, I won more races and scored a record number of points. But this has been a more balanced season, with many strong riders. We have always been serene, and we never made any mistakes - almost."
