The World Superbike grid grew to 18 confirmed riders Jan. 14 when Team Pedercini announced Alex Lundh and Federico Sandi would ride its Kawasakis in 2013.

Lundh, from Sweden, rode the last six races of 2012 for the team. Italian Sandi, son of legendary crew chief Giovanni Sandi, has bounced around various domestic and international series before landing this ride. His father is perhaps most well known as Max Biaggi's crewchief at Aprilia until the 2012 season.

The Italian-based Pedercini also announced it will field three Kawasakis in Superstock 1000 competition this season, for Federico Dittadi, Leandro Mercado and Lorenzo Savadori.

The signing of Alex Lundh and Federico Sandi suggests that American Ben Bostrom has decided not to join the Pedercini squad, meaning he will be one of the fastest unsigned riders and may come into play if any team needs a replacement rider.
