Repsol Honda riders Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez will test their RC213V machines March 12-14 at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, five weeks ahead of the inaugural MotoGP event at that circuit, according to a German media report.
A testing slot became available for Repsol Honda because the GPTech team of American wild-card rider Aaron Yates already had the track booked for those dates, German media reported.
It's uncertain whether the LCR Honda of Stefan Bradl will join Repsol Honda and GPTech at the test. Bradl is on a factory-supported bike this season.
MotoGP testing restrictions were loosened after the 2011 season, allowing in-season testing at Grand Prix circuits. The only major restrictions are no testing at a GP track within 14 days of that circuit's MotoGP event, and each team has 240 tires for testing for an entire year.
The inaugural Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas is scheduled for April 19-21 at Austin.
