One can almost hear the chorus of Pink Floyd's stoner rant "Another Brick in the Wall" - "Hey, teacher, leave them kids alone!" - as 2012 World Superbike runner-up Tom Sykes this week expressed his opposition to Dorna's plans to reduce the technology and cost of the production-based series in 2014.
"MotoGP and World Superbike championships are great," Englishman Sykes told German media. "The Superbike World Championship is working fine as it is. Hopefully it would not be altered, because the fans see fantastic racing, very close racing, many manufacturers are fighting for wins."
Sykes joins Alstare Ducati boss Francois Batta as a vocal foe of Dorna's plans to cap the cost of a World Superbike to 250,000 euros per season, excluding crash damage.
