Pedrosa--to whom much is given much is expected.
Dani Pedrosa won six of the last eight races of the 2012 MotoGP season, pushing eventual World Champion Jorge Lorenzo to the limit.

The momentum spawned by that strong stretch run prompted HRC boss Shuhei Nakamoto to suggest earlier this month that 2013 will be a pivotal season for Pedrosa - it's now-or-never time - if he is to earn his first MotoGP World Championship. For comparative purposes, Casey Stoner walked into Pedrosa's team and walked away with the title in his first try on the factory Honda squad.

Seven-year MotoGP veteran Pedrosa dismissed any pressure created by Nakamoto's comments during media interrogation Thursday at the Repsol Honda team launch in Madrid.

"I got asked (about Nakamoto's comments) a million times, but I don't read the press or follow the news, so I don't know what is said or not," Pedrosa said. "I look at myself. There's a lot of expectation about Valentino (Rossi) and about (Marc) Marquez, but I've been riding bikes for a long time, and I know more or less what to expect.

"I focus on what I can do, and I know that if I can show my talent every day and have my team with me every day, that's enough."
