American Suzuki could do with a spot of good news these days. Rumors of even more job cutbacks at US Suzuki coupled with the word that they will kill off the old American Suzuki Motor Corporation (now in bankruptcy) made the rounds yesterday. Suzuki issued a press release, but it probably won't do much to stave off the unconfirmed rumors that they plan to leave California and may lay off even more employees.
Suzuki's release states: ... Motorcycles/ATV and Marine divisions and Automotive parts and service operation to a newly organized, wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation. The subsidiary will operate in the continental U.S. as Suzuki Motor of America, Inc....
This comes with the news that possibly the most Suzuki-loyal person we knowKevin Schwantzactually will start riding a Triumph Steve McQueen that he was given as a gift from Triumph.
