On his way to eat lunch today, Repsol Honda MotoGP rider Marc Marquez said that one of the things on his to-do list today and for the rest of the test here at COTA is to not let his competitors see how he is managing to lap fast at this track.
With such a complex layout, wide and smooth pavement, a variety of racing lines are possible and opinions vary for the fast line through certain sections. Some riders feel that turn one is a multi-line corner while others feel a single wide line sets one up best for that corner and the next three.
Marquez is not taking any chances.
"When I follow Dani or Jorge they slow a little so I don't see their lines," he said, "and when they follow me I do the same."
