Among the many questions lingering after seeing the Daytona 200 grid last week was "where's Moonbeam?"
Tommy Aquino, who we long ago nicknamed "Moonbeam" and keep calling him that even though he hates it, was not on any entry sheets at Daytona. Aquino is a hard charger and race winner and him not having a ride when others do is just one of those things that makes you go hmmm.
Good news on the Aquino front has just landed.
American Tommy Aquino will race a Kawasaki ZX-10R fielded by Team WD-40 in the British Superbike National Superstock 1000 class this season.
Aquino, from Saugus, Calif., will team with Jon Railton. Aquino competed in AMA Pro Racing until 2012, when he also raced in the Spanish CEV Moto2 series. He was a race winner in Daytona SportBike and was named 2008 "DMG" Racing Rookie of the Year in 2008.
