Yamaha's Valentino Rossi's 2013 season, at times, almost makes you think he is continuing the technical issue trend that Ben Spies suffered in his final year on the Yamaha MotoGP team.
Spies, in his final season on the M1, wrestled with engine failures, brake issues, suspension failures and computer glitches. Spies grew so frustrated after his Indy engine failure that he kicked the M1 and punched the garage wall.
Rossi has had some odd mechanical gremlins pop up this season. Today at Aragon he suffered with front brake issues which cost him a great deal of time in the second practice. Rossi was sidelined for much of the session while his team tried to repair the M1.
Rossi also suffered brake issues at the Austin round of the MotoGP championship. He said after the race at COTA that part of the carbon/carbon disc or its mounting system failed.
