It's clear just by looking at him that some time away from racing has done Jeremy Burgess a world of good.
Burgess and longtime rider Valentino Rossi split up at the final race of the 2013 season when Rossi decided that he'd rather work with Italian Silvano Galbusera, who previously had worked with Ben Spies and James Toseland in WSBK.
Burgess has enjoyed nine or ten months of "every day is Saturday" as those lucky enough to retire term their day to day existence. He has enjoyed working in his garage and hanging out with his family in Australia.
A cheerful and looking more than a few years younger Burgess was in the MotoGP paddock today mingling with old friends and fans. He wore a red polo shirt and jeans, with no sign of any kind of Yamaha logo anywhere (Burgess had a 2014 contract with Yamaha).
