Rio Gains FIM Okay. Brazil? Well ...

The Circuito Termas de Rio Hondo's MotoGP race took an important step towards happening when the FIM certified the still under construction circuit this week.

That event is scheduled for April 27.

The Brazilian round of the championship, although, now seems doomed with Brazilian media reporting that, internally at least, the race will not happen.

The Brazilian round was to take place on September 29 and formed one of several punishing multiple/consecutive race weekend runs of the '14 championship. When confirmed the news that Brazil is not happening will be met with a generous degree of relief.
