Wet race.

Margin of victory: 6.8 seconds.

The dramatic moment of the race came when Aprilia teamsters Melandri and Guintoli were pushing through the pack and arrived nearly at the wheel of then race leader Rea at mid-race. Rea looked very vulnerable and was about to be passed when Guintoli tried an inside pass on his teammate and took them both out.

Guintoli was able to re-mount and finish the race. Rea rode away to a triumphant victory on the track where he made some of his first "bones" as a rider in the world championship.
