After the embarrassment of the Phillip Island MotoGP event last season--the race had to incorporate a pit stop because of tire wear issues on the new pavement--Honda, Yamaha and Ducati are testing in Australia this week with Bridgestone.
Former world champion Jorge Lorenzo left Sepang last week an unhappy camper as he found little but frustration in the new Bridgestone front tire. Lorenzo refused to speak with the press for much of the Sepang test presumably for fear of how he might comment.
Things are going much better for the Spanish rider at this test, he lapped fastest today.
Lorenzo, Yamaha, 1:29.213
Rossi, Yamaha, 1:29.576
Crutchlow, Ducati, 1:29.730
Pedrosa, Honda, 1:29.961
Dovizioso, Ducati, 1:29.965
The Phillip Island MotoGP test continues on for two more days.
