Newly injured Tech 3 Yamaha rider Pol Espargaro crashed in this session, tumbling hard over the front of the M1 Yamaha. He was largely unhurt and returned to the session on a second bike.

Both Aleix Espargaro and Dovizioso set their fast time on the Open "soft" rear tire.
