Yamaha Racing PR manager Scott Heath has resigned from Yamaha to take a VP job with Mitsubishi and head Mitsu's LA office. Heath has been with Yamaha US for several years and worked extensively with all of the Yamaha US race teams. His replacement has not been named. Heath's final official function as a Yamaha man will be at Pike's Peak.

Rich Oliver to return to 250s? Several manufacturers are trying to entice former 250 Grand Prix champion Rich Oliver back into the AMA 250 Grand Prix class with fat budgets and promises of plenty. Oliver no doubt  wants to stay in Superbikes and is still on the list over at Vance and Hines Ducati. Oliver has 42 wins in 250 GP and the lure to crack fifty national wins must be great. And the ad campaign to promote that would be worthwhile to any manufacturer.

Ron Barrick and the rest of the AMA armada are down at Daytona this week chatting about 2000 DIS events with the chiefs at the Daytona International Speedway.

The rider on the new cover page on your fave web site? That's former Superbike champion Wes Cooley Jr. on a Yoshimura Suzuki GS1000S Superbike, circa 1979, tuned by Pops Yoshimura himself.

Kevin Schwantz to Suzuki? Rumor has it that the former 500 cc champion will have an official place on the factory team as a coach to their riders.
