Quotes:

Slight, in dominant mood all weekend at Hockenheim, was the final rider to go in the one-lap competition and the New Zealander didn't disappoint. He explained: "I was really pushing hard for the first lap under two minutes around this place but I ran wide and hit the dirt coming into the stadium section and that cost me the tiny bit of time I needed to get under two minutes."

"We made a few modifications to the bike for Superpole" declared Troy Corser; "Front tire and rear suspension, so I could set my fastest time in the two days here at Hockenheim. It's really hot and it's sure to have a major influence on tomorrow's races. Some of the problems of handling in the chicanes have been resolves, we'll sort the rest out tomorrow morning. Then in the races we're sure to see a lot of drafting".

"I start from row two knowing that with all the drafting I can make up the disadvantage" declared Carl Fogarty; "We have to make good use of all the work we've done these past two days both regarding set-up as well as tire choice for the race. The real unknown factor is the temperature, which will give the tires a hard time".

"For me Hockenheim is also the memory of a couple of nasty incidents" commented Andreas Meklau; "third fastest time in today's Superpole gives me a lot of satisfaction. For sure I know the track better than many others and that, together with the fact that the bike is really powerful down the long straights, gives me a real advantage".

"I feel like I'm on a track back home" said the American Larry Pegram; "the number of bumps is similar to an American circuit. Today's eighteenth-fastest time is a good result if you think that I only had two sessions, because Paolo Casoli practiced on Friday. I hope that I can get up to the front by drafting".

Rumors are running rampant that Corser has signed with Honda for 2000 ... Castrol Honda has scheduled a 5:30 pm press conference to make "an announcement" but my sources say it has nothing to do with Corser.
