STEW GODDARD UPDATE

A friend of Goddard's and definite FOS spoke with Stew today and reported this:

"He is Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Ca. He is in amazingly good spirits. He will be in a halo for the next 3 months, but has not suffered any additional paralysis. He has 10 leg fractures and they are all aligned so there will not be any surgery required to  repair
them. He will have removable casts. I don't know (nor did I ask) how long he will be hospitalized, but I imagine it will be for some time.

"He is totally blown away at the outpouring of kindness from racers, friends, and the M/C industry. I will be going to visit him in the next couple of days. Please feel free to post any or all of this if you care to. Information on him has been difficult at best to come by in the last week or so."

Wanna know the power of the internet? Those IC nurses at the first hospital ain't never giving out their fax number again. Faxes were received from GP teams, WSC riders, Sue Gobert, Rainey, and tons and tons of concerned friends and fans. The thing ran almost full-time for two days; and after a while they were real sick of dropping off reams of faxes at Stews bed.
