GP NEWS: Mike Sinclair to retire, Biaggi to send his mechanics home
Welkom winner Max Biaggi has caused a stir in the paddock by telling his team bosses he wants his team of mechanics sacked. The Marlboro Yamaha man has been planning for some while to replace his international crew with the Italians who wrenched for him when he raced 250s for Aprilia. He has suffered just one breakdown this year - at the season-opening Malaysian GP. "We are looking at the organizational structure of the team," said a team spokesman. "The mechanics have already been told there could be some changes for next year."
Biaggi's crew chief Mike Sinclair has already told the team he won't be around in 2000. The New Zealander, who guided Wayne Rainey to his three 500 titles and has been working in the sport for 25 years, is retiring from the scene to spend more time at home.ENDS
