Yamaha TZ250 orders close tomorrow

If you're one of the lucky ones thinking about ordering one of Yamaha's new and improved 2000 TZ250s, you'd better get that 'hinder in gear. Yamaha will close the orders on 2000 TZ250 models tomorrow.

The new TZ250 is the second generation of the V-twin model, according to Yamaha, and includes new sand cast cases, new square bore engine configuration (54by54.5mm), ignition, cylinder head, updated chassis and suspension. It's essentially the same as the prototype Argentinean Sebastian Porto rode at the South African Grand Prix last weekend, which he almost beat Loris Capirossi' s Honda works bike with.

According to Yamaha, the new TZ is said to be five horsepower stronger than last year's model, (which should put it at about 92-94 hp) and it'll weigh right around 230 pounds, dry.

Price is new too: $18,250, less than last year. That gets you behind the screen of the winningest bike ever in AMA 250 GP racing.
