Grand Prix Notes: Gobert sues Vance and Hines?

Anthony Gobert is to sue the Vance & Hines Ducati team for non-payment of the final portion of his fee for contesting the US Superbike series.

Gobert missed at the final round of the championship after hurting himself in a motocross training fall. Vance & Hines are unconvinced by Goey's explanation for his no-show and are blaming him for costing team-mate Ben Bostrom the championship.

"I've won a lot of races for Vance & Hines and did a lot for them over in the States, it's not right they're not paying me for missing a race through injury."

Gobert aims to stay in GPs next year with the Swiss-German MuZ 500 team, who he started riding for at the Australian GP. "500s is where I want to be," he said. "We've had some talks about next season but nothing too serious. The team have given me a lot of support, giving me time to learn the machine. The bike had been holding me back until we got it adjusted right - I'm a real front-end rider and I couldn't ride my normal style until we got the front sorted. We've also gone back to a 17 inch rear and it's heaps better. I started out with a 16.5 because it felt more like the Dunlops I was used to on the Ducati, but now the 17's best."
