TADAYUKI OKADA 2nd 1:44.718 "Today was just a matter of getting my head down and trying as hard as I could with what I had. Weíve basically only had one day of dry practice and even that wasnít a full day because the track was still wet this morning. So with only one session of dry time, itís not really easy to set the bike up properly. Itís therefore no surprise that my feeling on the bike isnít so good at the moment. Both my engine and chassis settings arenít the way Iíd like them to be. Weíre now going to have a meeting with my team and my chief engineer Simon Bleasdale to decide what we should do. We may try to work some big changes into the bike during the warm-up tomorrow. Weíll have to see."
ALEX CRIVILLE 3rd 1:44.782 "The bike is working quite well but there is still room for improvement, especially the carburation. Itís a pity that I crashed. That left me with only one bike to end the session and it also lost me quite a lot of time. I crashed because I went on the white line, theyíre still as slippery as ever. Still, third position is good and Iím happy with that. That crash was a high speed one. I didnít get hurt too badly. Iíve bruised my chest and my right elbow and of course it didnít do my broken wrist any good. Crashing at 200 kph is no fun! For tomorrow, I just want to win. Thatís the best way for me to end the championship."
SETE GIBERNAU 13th 1:46.016 "That session didnít go well. We kind of lost our way with our suspension settings. We went off in one direction, then the other, but never quite got it right. Iím not at the stage where Iím feeling confident on the bike. Tomorrow morning, weíll try to come up with the best mix of our different settings. I think weíve already got our tyre and carburation choices pretty spot on. This track is really difficult because itís so bumpy and the white lines are so slippery. Itís hard to avoid making mistakes ".
