Grand Prix News: Fiorenzo Fanali to work with Biaggi in 2000
Fanali worked with Nori Haga this season and with Eddie Lawson in 1980s and 90sMax Biaggi will have a new crew chief for 2000 - fellow Italian Fiorenzo Fanali, who worked with Eddie Lawson at Marlboro Yamaha during his three world championships in '84, '86 and '88.
He later went on to engineer for Cagiva, where he guided Lawson and then John Kocinski to the Italian factory's first GP wins. In recent years he has worked for Yamaha's World Superbike squad.
Biaggi's current engineer Mike Sinclair has retired from GP racing after 25 years following the world championships. A keen windsurfer, the New Zealander joked: "I want to be able to do forward somersaults before I'm 50!"
Biaggi will also have a new crew of mechanics next year, after asking his team to sack his current crew.
