One rider under the radar at COTA is Yamaha's Brad Smith. Look for him with the holeshot.

Rossi was out-qualified by an 'Open' bike yesterday but seemed to think things will change in the race.

Pedrosa is the fastest of the non-Marquez riders at COTA. There is plenty of conjecture about his future. This is, after all, MotoGP, and the silly season starts at the first race.

If Pedrosa is forced off the Repsol team, a rider that might replace him is Stefan Bradl, incredibly enough.

Australian Jack Miller stormed to his first pole in Moto3 with a riding style he said was a little Schwantz, and a little cowboy.

Another rider fully under the radar at COTA is Bautista. He qualified 12th.

Rossi seemed indifferent about qualifying but we'll really never know. He blew off all non-TV press yesterday.

Lorenzo is in his own world. If one were the kind of person who let things bother him, then a fast kid from your own country strafing you and your inability to make nice with either the 2013 or 2014 tires might start to bother you.

Pedrosa pulls gears on the Honda at COTA.

Lorenzo wore double knee pucks on his leathers yesterday, suggesting he wasn't comfortable on the bike at full lean.

Most riders are nail biters. The American Psychiatric Association defines nail biting as a kind of 'impulse control disorder'. Anxiety.

And even those who are unbelievably fast can't stop chewing their nails.

The only problem with chewing your nails is there's only 10 of them.
