Brian's Lost Slides: Re-discovered & Uploaded
images by brian j nelson

These previously believed to be lost slides were recently found by photographer Brian Nelson. They include this shot from Brainerd in 1997.

Shooting down on the podium: ground-breaking in 1997, not 2008.

An iconic shot of former Superbike champion and dirt track legend Bubba Shobert taken at Elkhart Lake in 1989.

Suzuki-mounted Scott Russell leads his teammate Jamie James at Elkhart in 1989. This is moments before one of the most infamous incidents in Superbike history.

Russell leads eventual race winner Rich Arnaiz. Arnaiz scored a rare and welcome Superbike win in Superbike in 1989.

They said that a Harley-Davidson VR 1000 could not be competitive at Brainerd in 19934. Problem is they forgot to tell DuHamel. He spoke about this race on a recent Soupkast. Here he leads Mike Smith, Pascal Picotte and Colin Edwards.

DuHamel qualified the VR 1000 on the front row at Mid-Ohio and actually led the race in 19934. Good times man, good times. Until the shifter fell off.
