Daytona 2001: The Chicane Was On Fire!

Today we look back at the Daytona 200 from 2001. Here is then Yamaha teamster Tommy Hayden.	He was teamed with Anthony Gobert on the blue machines.	Nicky Hayden was full into young-gun territory at this stage. He battled for the championship.	Honda raced their RC51 machines in '01, with Miguel DuHamel and Hayden on the factory team.
Former WSBK champion Scott Russell was free from his VR 1000 chains in 2001 and raced Mitch Hansen's Ducati at Daytona.	Another fellow on a Ducati that year was former WSBK man Aaron Slight. It would be his last professional bike race.	Jake Zemke, on the Erion Honda squad, where he is rumored to be riding in 2008.	The Show, with his then crewchief, Tom Houseworth, who now works with Superbike champion Ben Spies.
