Conditions: sunny, with temperatures in the low nineties.

MBNA SUPERBIKE QUALIFYING
Jason Pridmore took the No. 41 Vance & Hines Ducati to the provisional pole for Sunday's MBNA Superbike race with a time of 54.881 seconds and an average speed of 85.275mph. "I hope my stock went up a little," said Pridmore. "We had a good setup for qualifying and were able to get the provisional pole, but I think the times will be faster tomorrow. I think we have a little bit left in our bike."

Asked about the heat and 5,357ft. altitude at Pikes Peak, Pridmore replied, "When you get riding you really don't think about much. I'm just happy with the way things are going now. I've been training hard and sticking to my nutritional program and getting in as good a shape as the rest of the guys out here. I know I have the bike to win so I don't want my body to let me down."

Yoshimura Suzuki No. 20 rider Aaron Yates was second-fastest during this afternoon's MBNA Superbike qualifying session with a time of 54.937 seconds. Yates' No. 66 teammate Mat Mladin was third-fastest with a time of 54.945 seconds.

Pascal Picotte and the No. 21 Harley-Davidson VR1000 were fourth-fastest, clocked at 55.041 seconds, and Ben Bostrom and the No.11 American Honda were fifth-fastest with a time of 55.282 seconds.

Muzzy Kawasaki No. 1 rider Doug Chandler was right behind Bostrom with a time of 55.368. "Today we didn't really use the tires we had saved for qualifying, "said Chandler. "I elected to save them for tomorrow hoping the track will be a little bit better. I'm not too disappointed. I think we were pretty close, and I didn't expect to be at the top just because I didn't use my (best) tires. Hopefully tomorrow we can improve."

MBNA Superbike qualifying resumes Saturday at 2:30pm local time.

PIRELLI FORMULA XTREME QUALIFYING
Series leader Eric Bostrom took the pole for tomorrow's Pirelli Formula Xtreme race aboard the No. 17 Erion Honda with a time of 55.852 seconds and an average speed of 87.793mph. No. 65 Tri City Cycle Yamaha rider Daniel Turner was second-fastest with a time of 56.709 seconds. Mark Miller and the No. 24 Graves Motorsports Yamaha were third-fastest with a time of 56.808 seconds, and Tripp Nobles was fourth-fastest with a time of 56.968 seconds aboard the No. 87 Erion Honda.

Tomorow's Pirelli Formula Xtreme race will start at 3:30pm local time.
