Yates set to sign contract

My sources say that current Yoshimura Suzuki rider, Double A-Ron Yates, two time AMA Superbike winner this season (and one time recipient of a jaw-breaking left hook) will probably sign a contract with whichever team he will ride for in 1999, this week. Yates is currently testing the Yosh GSX-R750 at Vegas.

It is well-known that at least three AMA Superbike teams are trying to hire Yates for 1999, VHR Ducati, Muzzy Kawasaki and Yoshimura Suzuki. Yates was supposed to attend this weekend's Spanish GP on Suzuki's behalf but those plans have been canceled.

But, Apple computer's Steve Jobs will attend the GP, as a guest of HRC, or at least that was the plan about a week or so ago. Jobs will be in France for some geek-tan-festival and HRC is flying him down as their guest, or so say my sources.
