Lap times continue to drop during the last day of tire testing at Daytona. The hot runners on the track are currently Mat Mladin, the first man in the 49s, and John Kocinski.

Mladin has gone 1:49.87 on a race tire, and will probably go even faster as the day moves on. His first flying lap was a 1:50.7.

Kocinski has turned in a 1:50.7 on a race tire.

Mr. Daytona, Scott Russell, is yet to turn a wheel today. His crew is installing a fresh motor in his 996 Ducati.

Expect even better times as some of Dunlop's more experimental tire concoctions find there way to the rear wheels of the fast guys.
