Each of the factory Honda RC51s have strange tape under the paint on their upper fairings, and the tape is in different areas and has unique size depending on the rider/bike combo. (photo below, let it load)

Each bike has fairings with or without the tape. The bike Roberts practiced on this morning did not have the tape on it, his B bike in the pit lane, did. 

Honda race management say that the tape is "a sticker", and refused to comment further. All three riders were recently in Japan, in the HRC wind tunnel.
