The Upside of Joe Roberts & TrackHouse Aprilia MotoGP
Mel Jaas

It's not an Oppenheimer-level deduction that if TrackHouse are serious about getting American riders into MotoGP then Joe Roberts is a candidate.
These are the upsides to Roberts potentially joining the TrackHouse Aprilia team:
He left MotoAmerica quickly enough so that he didn't become focused on celebrating his own mediocrity like most of the riders in MotoA.
He's an American (but keep in mind as the British press has gleefully pointed out he was conceived in the UK to British parents. He was just born here). (/s)

He left MotoAmerica quickly enough so that he didn't become focused on celebrating his own mediocrity like most of the riders in MotoA.

He has been racing Moto2 for years and knows the tracks. He has won Moto2 races.

He's either still in a boy band and is some kind of male model or was both at one time. This probably means he's better at colorful social media garbage than current Trackhouse riders Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez.

He hasn't gotten any shorter. Which means he could possibly fit better on a MotoGP bike than a Moto2 bike.

Also, well, he knows the tracks.
