With just under two hours to go for this edition of the annual Dunlop Daytona test, Suzuki's Mat Mladin still has fast time of the event.
Mladin lapped at 1:49. this morning.
Next fastest seems to be Honda's Kurtis Roberts at a 1:50.1. Roberts, with two hours remaining in the test, is the fastest Honda rider on the track. Nicky Hayden and Miguel DuHamel are lapping slower than Roberts, and the Honda team just rolled DuHamel's RC51 back to the garage for some set up work.
Outwardly, it appears that the RC51 is having a tire life problem that the other teams are not.
John Kocinski is not out and lapping at the moment, and Pegram suffered an engine failure this morning that the team has just finshed fixing.
Scott Russell is rumored to have lapped at 1:50 today, but his team was unable to confirm it. They have him with a fast lap of 1:52. Steve Rapp is currently sitting on the pit wall while his Ducati is repaired from his earlier crash.
Suzuki Japan's Akira Ryo just crashed in turn one. He was in the ambulance but will not be transported. Ryo is unable to lap faster than a 1:55 thus far, which was Freddie Spencer's lap record, in 1985.
Kawasaki's Chandler and Bostrom are lapping in the 1:51-52 range at the moment.
And as we post this, John Kocinski goes back out on-track.
