According to a press report in the Macarthur Chronicle (Australia) newspaper Mat Mladin has entered an “expensive” rehabilitation facility because of mental health concerns.
Mladin (48) was arrested last week for bail violations according to the report.
As condition of his bail for the previous charges of “sexual intercourse with a child under 10” Mladin was to stay “in residence” but was found on his father’s property in Mangerton. Apparently Mladin was incorrectly informed by his attorney that he could travel while on bail, which was not the case. The rehab facility is not named in the press report, where it is termed “expensive”.
Mladin is due back in court in a few weeks for the charges against him.
Mladin raced for the Yoshimura Suzuki and Ferracci Ducati teams while here in the US.
Additionally, Mladin, during his time in the USA, was known to have had zero contact with his father after he left 250 racing in Australia.
