Ducati satellite rider Hector Barbera could miss the season opener March 26 at Qatar after being scheduled for surgery Friday to repair a broken collarbone suffered in a training accident on a 600.
Barbera, 30, finished a career-best 10th in the MotoGP standings in 2016 for Avintia, with which he is staying for a fourth season this year under the new name Reale Esponsorama Racing. He will race on a 2016-spec Ducati this season.
