After two days of near 90-degree heat, the weather at CoTA this morning is decidedly different. It’s a crisp 50-odd degrees with a semi-stiff wind.
The MotoGP riders probably don’t like it while their tires don’t like it at all. MotoGP bikes are coming in on the crash truck in heavy rotation.
Thus far Alex Rins, Jorge Lorenzo, Marc Marquez (2), Andrea Iannone, Aleix Esparago, Sam Lowes and Bautista have all suffered crashes. Rins seems to be injured.
Marquez suffered two crashes, the second of which took him by quite surprise. In that spill his foot was caught under the sliding and bouncing bike.
Proof yet again that he is a fortunate young man, Marquez seemed to be completely uninjured in either crash. He ran back to the paddock at one point–not the first time he’s done that.
