It started raining here in Austin just after midnight and has rained on and off through the night. It was raining very hard earlier this morning, and lightning struck twice near the track. Due to the lightning strikes everything is more or less shut down at the track. Shuttles are not rolling and no on-track action is happening. The weather forecast shows rain continuing–at least–throughout the morning.
An emissary has been sent to Willie Nelson’s local ranch to let him know of the situation and to see if he can produce enough second-hand to push this weather system south. I’m told he’s not up yet, but when he does get up he can probably take care of it.
