Ex World Supersport rider Cal Crutchlow’s LCR future was in doubt recently when it broke that he had started talks with Pramac Ducati for 2016, and was linked with a possible move to Marc VDS.
Longtime Honda campaigner LCR Honda has endured a hard season of sponsor issues and drama, this after a bold sponsor and team intro last February.
The team debuted a Castrol Honda paint scheme at the recent Michelin test.
Crutchlow said at the Indy GP that he was “talking to everyone” about a ride for 2016.
Now it’s learned that Crutchlow’s immediate future will remain with LCR Honda. Crutchlow has agreed to stay with the LCR team through 2016 where he will ride a satellite Honda RC213V.
Aussie Jack Miller will probably also remain a Honda rider, but may be piloting an Aspar RCV1000 in 2016 instead of the LCR unit he is on now.
