It’s suggested that Valentino Rossi will make an announcement tomorrow at Misano regarding his future as a professional motorcycle racer. The racing world seems split on whether Rossi will announce another year in MotoGP or if he will decide to call it a career and retire.
To a normal person who rode away from the infamous Zarco crash at the Red Bull Ring without being dead, they’d see each day as a gift and perhaps start each morning with champagne.
Riders, however, are far from normal. As seen from the incident at Sepang which ended with his friend Marco Simoncelli being killed, Rossi has massive mental strength and obviously has the ability to race on comfortable in knowing, as all motorcyclists do, that any ride can be your last ride.
Rossi has said a variety of things over the last 18 months regarding his future. He’s said that he wants to race until the culmination of the 2021 season, and that he wants to have a child; the former which may suggest he’s not going to race.
