Forward Yamaha boss John Cuzari is reportedly under arrest, suspected of money laundering and also corruption.
Rumors of ill behavior have dogged Cuzari for more than a year with some suggesting that American Colin Edwards II stopped racing MotoGP in 2014 earlier than he planned because of late payments from the team.
In the last few years, John Franco Castiglioni (who in part owned Ducati at one time) was put under house arrest in Italy for tax evasion and Althea team owner Genesio Bevilacqua was investigated for financial improprieties, also in Italy. Bevilacqua was later cleared of any charges.
In times like these we remember the words of our sage friend Dennis Noyes who, when events like these develop, always says, “You’re nobody in (insert essentially any Latin-based country) unless you’ve been arrested for financial improprieties.”
Will Forward race the Indy MotoGP event? Will Yamaha break ties with Cuzari over these reports? Stay tuned.
