Former WSBK champion and MotoGP mouth-shutter Troy Bayliss has announced that he will return to racing on a Ducati Superbike in the Australian Superbike series.
Bayliss was at the top of his Superbike game when he retired from racing. He was just eight wins from toppling Carl Fogarty from the top of the WSBK win list. It was well known Bayliss was appeasing friends and family by retiring, a decision he regretted almost immediately. Bayliss was ready to return the next season and had a hard time not announcing his availability while he was in Europe.
He’s made several returns to racing since then including racing some Mile dirt track events (which went swimmingly until his foot turned backwards) here in America.
